Makin' it Pretty
Chord Placement 411
Basically, where ya want ya chords to hang out with the lyrics. Pretty simple stuff:
- Above throws the chord on its own line, all fancy & separate. Lyrics chill below like they're not even friends.
- Inline smooshes the chord right into the lyrics like they're best buds. Saves space but might accidentally destroy a word or two. Oopsie.
Chord Display Flavor
Pick how you want OnSong to show off chords when you import new songs. Because apparently there's like, a million ways to write the same thing:
- Alpha spits out letters A through G, with sharps & flats included if you're feelin' fancy. This is the default 'cause we're boring like that.
- Numeric goes full Nashville & shows chords as numbers (1-7) based on where they live in the key. Very "Music City" of you.
- Roman gets all Shakespeare with Roman numerals (I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, vii). Super classy, totally unnecessary.
- Solfege flexes with Latin syllables (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti). Stays put when you transpose unless you go pokin' around in Solfege Type settings & mess with it.
Split Chord Shenanigans
Wanna play an A chord over D bass? Slash notation's got ya back—A/D. This setting controls what actually gets sent out:
- Both outputs the whole shebang "as-is" with chord & bass separated by a slash. Default & probably what you want.
- Bass Only just the deep stuff. Chord? What chord.
- Chord Only ignore that bass, who needs it anyway.
Decoration Station
Stick brackets around chords to make 'em stand out from the lyrics. Totes helpful if you're goin' inline with this thing. Pick None (default), Square Brackets, Parentheses, Angled Brackets, or Curly Braces. Go wild.
