Pretty It Up
The Look & Feel tab lets you make the song content look like literally whatever you want. Buckle up, peep.
Typeface Vibes
Four buttons at the top of this menu let you pick the font for your entire song. Groundbreaking, we know:
- Georgia is a serif font that some people find easier to read. You do you.
- Helvetica is a sans-serif font that's perfect for chord charts. (It's the default. Shocking.)
- Courier is a fixed-width font that's useful if you're one of those weirdos who needs to line up chords in a very specific way.
- Marker is a handwritten font that's skinny AF, so you can cram more junk onto one page.
Font Sizes
Below those buttons are four sliders. Each one controls the size of different things on your chord chart. To the right of each slider is a power button. Tap it until it goes grey to turn that thing off completely. Tap & slide anywhere on the slider to adjust. Tap the left or right edge to fine-tune by one measly point.
- Header is your song title. Adjust from 12 to 38 points. Default is 21. Turn this off if you need more real estate for chords & lyrics.
- Metadata is the artist, key, tempo & time signature. Appears below the header. Turn it off or shrink it if you need space. Range: 6 to 30 points. Default is 14. You're welcome.
- Lyrics is basically everything else. Turn these off if you just wanna noodle on your instrument. Range: 6 to 30 points. Default is 14.
- Chords sit above or inside the lyrics & can be styled separately so they actually stand out. Turn these off if you're a vocalist or one of those musicians who memorizes everything (show-off). Range: 6 to 30 points. Default is 14. More options below, obvi.
Line Spacing
Wanna squeeze more onto the screen? Reduce the line spacing (that's the gap between lines). Or crank it up if you like breathing room & can actually see things. Tap the icons on either side of the sliders to fine-tune. Range: 0.7 to 1.3 lines. Default is 1.0.
Dim the Lights Mode
Tap the icon to the right of the line spacing slider to toggle low light mode on & off. This flips chord charts & menus to light text on a dark background. Runs throughout the whole app. Super useful when you're playin' in a dark venue & don't wanna blind yourself or wash out the stage. (Your eyes will thank you.)
Chord Glow
This is the background color that makes chords pop from the page. Default presets are Clear (duh), yellow, orange, green, turquoise, purple, magenta & grey — all at 50% opacity. Wanna go rogue & customize? Hit up the Color Picker.
Chord Text Style
Change the chord text color & make 'em italic or bold for maximum drama & visibility. Pro tip: use either highlight colors OR text colors, not both, unless you like straining your eyeballs. Text color presets are Black (default), red, blue, green, light blue & purple. Customize away using the Color Picker.
Wanna set defaults for all this stuff? Tap the wrench icon in the top left & dive into the Style Preferences Format options. Future you will be grateful.
