Squish Yo' Settings

OnSong can squish your media files like a pancake in a bunch of different ways depending on what kinda stuff you downloaded & how you yoinked it. OnSong will compress the heck outta your media with whatever method you picked.

By Smooshin' It Down

This is the default move & it'll crunch your audio into M4A format. We're talkin' about shrinking your files down to like 1/10th the size—so that 100 Mb beast? Now it's a cute lil' 10 Mb. Yeah, it's lossy compression (translation: we're gonna lose some quality, srsly), but if you grabbed it from a legit source, OnSong will try to download it again if things go sideways. Honestly? This is the GOAT option cuz your media still works even if the internet ghosted you or you forgot how WiFi works.

By Nukin' It

This condense setting will absolutely obliterate the underlying file whether you can redownload it or not. RIP to your file. It ain't comin' back smaller either—it's just… gone.

By Nukin' It OR Smooshin' It Down

If the file can be redownloaded, we just DELETE that bad boi so it takes up literally zero storage space. Try to use it later? BOOM—it downloads itself again from the source like magic. If the media's stuck with you forever (can't redownload), we'll squish it using lossy compression instead. We're not total monsters.
