Multipage is basically paper-saving ninja mode. Cram more than one page onto a single sheet & boom—less paper wasted, faster printing, & your desk isn't drowning in useless scraps. You're welcome, trees.

The multipage menu lets you tweak how your pages look when they come out. Whatever you set in the Page Layout Menu gets used to draw each page on your multipage sheet. Options are sorted into these sections:

Multipage

Wanna turn on multipage? Sweet. Just pick how many pages you wanna squish onto one physical sheet. OnSong uses fancy printing-press talk & calls it "n-up"—basically, how many pages fit on a sheet.

The orientation of your physical sheet depends on how many pages you're cramming on there & what orientation you picked in the Page Layout Menu. Like, if you pick 2-Up with portrait mode, OnSong's all "nope" & flips it to landscape to fit both pages. If your pages are already landscape, OnSong rotates the sheet to portrait to make it work. It's like tetris but with paper. You're welcome.

Options include:

  • Off is basically 1-up—prints one page straight to your printer like a normal person. Default.
  • 2-Up smashes two pages next to each other on a single sheet.
  • 4-Up arranges four pages in a lil' grid on one sheet.
  • 8-Up grids eight pages onto a single sheet. Getting spicy.
  • 16-Up YOLO—sixteen pages in a grid. Your eyes are gonna hate you.

Paper Size

This is literally just how big your physical paper is, & it can be different from whatever you set in the Page Layout. The paper size in Page Layout is the default. Options include:

  • Letter (8.5" x 11")
  • Legal (8.5" x 14")
  • Tabloid (11" x 17")
  • A5 (148mm x 210mm)
  • A4 (210mm x 297mm)
  • A3 (297mm x 420mm)

Margins

Set margins individually for top, left, bottom, & right. They default to whatever you set in Page Layout because we're nice like that. Options include:

  • 0"
  • 1/8"
  • 1/4"
  • 3/8"
  • 1/2"
  • 5/8"
  • 3/4"
  • 7/8"
  • 1"
  • 1-1/8"
  • 1-1/4"
  • 1-3/8"
  • 1-1/2"

Gutter

Gutter = fancy printing-press talk for "the space between stuff." Basically, you can add breathing room between each page on your physical sheet. Give those pages some personal space, y’know? Options include:

  • 0" jams pages right next to each other. Default.
  • 1/8"
  • 1/4"
  • 3/8"
  • 1/2"
  • 5/8"
  • 3/4"
  • 7/8"
  • 1"
  • 1-1/8"
  • 1-1/4"
  • 1-3/8"
  • 1-1/2"

Note: OnSong automatically draws a lil' outline around each page so you can see where one ends & the other begins on your physical sheet. You're welcome for that visual clarity.
